Camp reachAbility offers a summer camping program for youth & adults with disabilities. Director will work 5 weeks in Halifax then onsite in Cape Breton/Valley.

Tim Horton Children's Camp is located on 245 acres of ocean-front property on the Northumberland Strait. Our staff display a commitment to positive youth development by demonstrating respect and compassion towards all young people and leading them in programs that challenge them and encourage them to grow as individuals. Some of our exciting outdoor activities include swimming, a low ropes adventure course, a climbing tower and archery. Winter activities include ice skating and snowshoeing. Through these activities, staff establish caring relationships that help young people to become responsible, caring, motivated individuals within their community. Basic Qualifications For All Program Staff: We are looking for staff with a high level of enthusiasm and responsible decision making ability. We expect our staff possess current First Aid and CPR certifications, as well as to provide a clear criminal background check.

DIRECTOR - CAMP TIDNISH CAMPING PROGRAM

Easter Seals Nova Scotia is currently seeking candidates for the full time position of Director - Camp Tidnish Camping Program. Camp Tidnish provides summer residential camping opportunities during a series of seven-day sessions in late May through early August for some 300 campers with physical disabilities and cognitive delays. The campsite is located near Amherst, Nova Scotia. The ideal candidate will: Have a college or university Degree in Recreation Management or a related discipline and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience;Have a minimum of three years experience with increasing responsibility related to the management of camping programs or related residential programs;Have demonstrated ability in the recruitment and management of a camp staff team of 20 plus personnel;Have excellent interpersonal skills, maturity and ability to work successfully with, and supervise a younger staff team, as well as work successfully with parents, caregivers and our Camp Tidnish partners;Have a comprehensive understanding of physical and cognitive disability areas;Possess a valid driver's license and be willing to living on site during the May to August camping season;Have computer skills and database skills in areas such as Microsoft Word and Excel Programs;Adhere to the philosophy that Campers Come First.
